Some of you have probably had trouble figuring out which niches
that you should try to market. You have all read about and probably
had some experience with keyword research.

However, with the current financial concerns of many, it is time to
talk about some ways to be able to forcast popular niches.

Think about the things that you are willing to spend money on when
things are tight. Think about the things that you have to have no
matter what. Those are the things that people are going to be
looking for at a bargain online.

First of all, consider the basic necessities - housing, clothing,
food and income. Also, when things are bad people are going to need
comfort. So they may be willing to spend money on a pet. In fact, I
heard one report that chocolate sales are actually going up.

On the other hand, people are going to be spending less on things
that they don’t need right now. So niches like high end audio-video
equipment and gas guzzling cars will be less popular. Sure, there
will be some looking to buy, but not as many.

Keep this in mind also when the economy starts to take off again.
People are going to be eager to get some of the stuff that they
could not afford or were afraid to buy earlier. Put your energies
into those.

Use those guidelines and then do your basic keyword research and
all the rest. You are going to find that you are one step ahead of
the game.
